Aims of the competition

To prompt the development of vocal art with a professional and artistic standard; To offer chances for Chinese vocalists of the new generation to enter an international performing world; To provide a platform for professional vocalists to share their experience and skills of singing and performing.

Rules for awarding prizes in the Final


Rules for awarding prizes:

1、Prizes to be awarded in each class of the competition:
1st, 2nd,3rd, 4th, 5th prizes, and the first award, the second award and the third class award, merit award and participant award.

2、If the 5 contestants with the highest marks still do not reach the corresponding standard approved by the judges, prizes will not be awarded.
First prize winner should attain at least 94 marks (inclusive), second-92, third-90, fourth-88, fifth-86.

All contestants will be awarded the following certificates

First Class Award Certificate 90 marks or above

Second Class Award Certificate 85-89.99 marks

Third Class Award Certificate 80-84.99 marks

Merit Award Certificate 70-79.99 marks

Participant Award Certificate 69.99 or below

Qualification of Barbara Fei Memorial-Award:

Awarded singers will be voted by the Jury according to their performances at the Excellent Contestants’Concerts.


Awards of all classes in the Final


1.Contestants may enter more than one class.

2.Contestants from Mainland China must participate in the preliminary contests of their region.

3.Contestants from overseas are required to submit a recommendation letter from his/her vocalteacher for the preliminary shortlist.

4.Finalists will be announced after the preliminary contest and a written confirmation will be issued within 20 days after the preliminary contest. Oversea finalists will be notified in writing before 20th of December 2018.

5.Contestants are required to arrive at the competition venue 20 minutes prior to the start of the competition.

6.In all classes where an age limit is stated, competitors are requested to bring along their I.D.card /traveling documents to verify their age at the registration counter.

7.Uniform or school uniform is not allowed at the competition.

8.Competition Organizing Committee reserves the right to reschedule the competition if necessary. In the case of class suspension being instructed by the Education and Manpower Bureau or adverse weather conditions, all contests will be cancelled until further notice.

9.Decision made by jury members is final and should not be disputed.

10.Jury Members reserve the right of terminate one′s performance without affecting his/her score.

11.Performances exceeding the specified time may be terminated.

12.Jury Members should not adjudicate in classes in which their students have participated.

13.Audio and video recordings are not allowed. The copy right of all audio and video recordings belongs to the Organizing Committee.

14.All attendees of the competition should take care of their personal belongings. The organizing committee will not be responsible for any losses.

15.Entry fees are non-refundable or transferable.

16.Prizes for each class will only be awarded if contestants reach the standards set by the Organizing Committee.

17.Contestants should not give any inaccurate or misleading information. Otherwise, the application will be disqualified. All personal information given by contestants will only be used for the competition.

18.After submitting the application information, only one free chance to revise the information. If revising it again, 50% of application fee will be charged each time. Any application information will not be revised after the prescribed deadline.

19.The organizing committee has the right to disqualify any contestant who violates any of the rules and regulations stated above.

20.Rules and Regulations are subject to change without prior notice.

21.The Organizing Committee reserves the right of final explanation of this competition and relevant activities.
